Quality Engineering


Quality Engineering encompasses the management, development, operation and improvement of IT systems and IT Landscapes with high quality requirements. Therefore, Quality Engineering transcends Software Engineering by integrating aspects of general management (e.g. strategy, risk management, business process management, knowledge and information management, quality and environmental management, corporate performance management) and runtime (e.g. configuration, monitoring, service management). In application domains such as transportation, telecommunication, health, payment and energy management quality engineering is closely related with compliance to legal, regulatory and business requirements, contractual obligations and standards. Concerning quality attributes availability of IT services, safety, security and reliability play a dominant role.
